Library Manager Closes 03 Feb 2022

Kamo High School is a well resourced co-ed school in Whangarei of approximately 950 students. We believe in building respectful and meaningful relationships with our community and value both whakapono (building integrity and trust) and aroha (practicing compassion and respect) to inspire our students to aspire to be the best versions of themselves both personally and academically.

We are seeking a suitably qualified person with a passion for reading and literacy, to provide leadership in all aspects of the management and development of the School Library.

Some of the key tasks are:

● This person will provide high quality customer service and support to the school community.

● This person will develop and maintain the school library environment.

● Be able to manage the library budget, bearing short-term and long-term goals in mind.

● To manage cataloguing and classification programmes.

● To implement, maintain and develop ICT in the library in line school-wide ICT directions.

● Provide instruction and management of student librarians.

● To promote magazines to staff and students.

The hours of work are 8.00 am to 3.00 pm, five days per week during school term time.

Specialist Teacher of Learning Support Closes 04 Feb 2022

We are seeking a teacher who is passionate about both academic and personal success to join our school whānau, in particular to support our students who are ORS funded and those who require additional learning support. We are looking for a teacher who understands manaakitanga and whanaungatanga, and has high expectations of their students. We are also looking for applicants who value student agency and student voice.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a Post Graduate Diploma in Specialist Teaching

  • Have experience of working with students with complex learning needs

  • Be an experienced teacher at multiple levels

  • Experience of teaching ESOL

Position commences in term 1, 2022.
