Leader of learning - Science Closes 08 November 2021

Leaders of learning will work as part of our manukura (middle leadership), in conjunction with our deputy principals (Ngā Kākākura) to plan, develop and implement an innovative and responsive curriculum across Y9–13. Leaders of learning ensure curriculum development provides opportunities that give learners choice and agency, while still gaining the necessary skills and knowledge for life beyond school.

The leader of learning science will:

  • Have deep knowledge of the conceptual understandings and learning progressions required in science

  • Be able to support and deliver programmes for our diverse learners that require additional support or extension

  • Display evidence of expertise in specific areas of science teaching and learning across a variety of meaningful contexts

  • Create meaningful assessment opportunities which will provide students with meaningful feedback for feedforward

  • Maintain high standards of fair and equitable assessment practices across the learning area

  • Lead professional learning in both the learning area and school-wide

  • Seek student voice in the development and review of programmes of learning to ensure they are responsive and reflective of our learners

  • Purchase and maintain resources relating to the science learning area

  • Plan and implement health and safety procedures relevant to the teaching resources and spaces for the learning area. This may include providing training and support to staff outside of the learning area

  • Assist other staff to utilise the science resources and technology

  • Actively develop and maintain relationships with the leaders of learning across the school and with other schools

  • Actively contribute to extra-curricular programmes in the school as well as those relating to the science curriculum.

Dean's Administration Assistant Applications close at 12.00pm, Thursday 11th November 2021

An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and self-managing person to undertake the Dean’s Administration Assistant role to support and assist our Iwi Dean’s and Support staff.

The primary purpose of the Dean’s Administration Assistant is to provide administrative assistance with the day to day management of the Deans’ Centre and to provide other administration support with the Support Staff team as required.

This person will record and update student details and all necessary information as required into the Kamar system. And ensure that confidential information is protected and treated accordingly. This is a demanding role requiring someone who is detailed and excels in word processing systems, data input, communication, plus a myriad of other general administrative tasks. The successful applicant will need to be able to work to the confines of a structured timetable.

The hours of work are 8.00 am to 4.00 pm, five days per week during school term time.
