Caretaker - Permanent, Full Time

Kamo High School is a well resourced co-ed school in Whangarei with approximately 950 students. An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and self-managing person to undertake the Caretaker role within our kura.

Our Caretaker will work with our Executive Officer to provide a variety of caretaking duties inside and around our school buildings. Knowledge and experience of caretaking duties would be an advantage.

Key attributes we are specifically looking for include the ability to:

  • work unsupervised as part of a small team;

  • work positively with staff, students and our community;

  • work flexibly, focusing on tasks at hand;

  • have the ability to manage a budget and oversight of costs

Hours of Work

This position is full-time (40 hours per week, 8 hours per day), for 52 weeks a year.


The remuneration will be set under the School Caretakers', Cleaners' and Canteen Staff Collective Agreement based on experience and any relevant qualifications.
